a day in the life

Catch of the Day

This week we've been inspired by plaids and checks.  Today we are starting with a boys plaid shirt.  We prefer boys shirts because there are no ruffles or puff sleeves, and, there is no better way to get a true boyfriend fit than by wearing an actual boys shirt.  Color combos are also typically more interesting and dynamic (read: something other than bright pink or turq) in a boys plaid.

Cats' Night Out

We adore this book Cats Night Out.  We are fans of great illustrators and Jon Klassen's work here is no exception; these dancing city cats are simply adorable...and, you'll see, so sophisticated!  The neutral color palette of the picture book is mirrored in our look today.

Thinking Globally

Jeans, t-shirt and sneakers...all American style gone global.

Tonal Black

Like many people, black is really the foundation of our wardrobe, the reliable pieces we wear again and again.  Well, in our opinion, those black basics just got a lot more exciting.  We love the look of tonal black with little to no contrast.  We admit it's kind of a weird thing to get excited about, but, what can we do......(insert shoulder shrug and look of confusion here)?
