On The Prairie

This week we are having some fun with eyelet.  We all know eyelet as a summer classic, especially in white, but it has become particularly fresh and modern this year.  Today's take was inspired by the March Vogue spread, 'Light Brigade,' a stunning shoot.  Our location is not quite as picturesque, but we like how the layered, opaque black contasts with the translucent, feminine white.  We brought along ABC Dream, our absolute favorite alphabet book.  This edition is gorgeously illustrated in simple black and white.  Every time we read this book we discover a new detail.  We think the pages would also make great framed artwork in a children's room.

A Day at the Races

We like wearing florals best when we can pair it with something a little more masculine....on Monday we wore it back to camo and on Wednesday with sneakers.  Today we've borrowed from the boys once again with this short and suspender combo.

We are crazy for all things mint, it is such a refreshing color for hot summer days.  We think it looks especially beautiful paired with natural leather and/or soft gold.

Yesterday's post set us off on a brooch-seeking-bender and this is the result.  We've long been fans of a great large, single brooch or a grouping of several smaller brooches.  We think they are poised for a come back so keep your eyes open....
